The brand's visual language focuses on squares and circles, which inspired a packaging design resembling installation art. This box reimagines luxury jewelry packaging by blending form and function, making the packaging an integral part of the product experience. It is designed to be kept and repurposed even after the jewelry is removed, adding lasting value.

Production Technology
The outer packaging is made from a textured specialty paper with a literary charm, setting the tone for the experience. The main body is crafted from semi-transparent frosted acrylic with a smooth, uninterrupted surface. The velvet insert holder designed for rings can be easily swapped out for holders tailored to necklaces or earrings, making this box adaptable across the entire product line with just a simple component change.
Design Challenge
The interaction details of the packaging were the most challenging part of the design process. This included smoothly removing the acrylic box from the paper outer layer, designing the opening mechanism, and arranging the jewelry to ensure stability and an appealing display. Each detail was refined through close collaboration with clients and suppliers, with multiple adjustments and prototypes, to achieve the final result.
Project Duration
October 2023 to February 2024
Operation Flow
By opening the paper outer layer, you reveal the acrylic "art piece" inside. The dividing line clearly indicates where and how to open it. Strong magnets embedded in the top and bottom halves ensure a secure closure, while the satisfying magnetic pull adds a sense of ceremony and tactile pleasure each time the box is opened or closed, creating a playful interaction. Additionally, once the velvet ring holder is removed, the hollow semi-circular space transforms into a storage box, adding a functional afterlife to the packaging.
Inspiration
The design draws core inspiration from the brand's signature elements, which are the square and circle. The challenge was to blend these forms in a way that is both aesthetically pleasing and memorable. Influenced by minimalist aesthetics, the designer finds inspiration from photographer Hiroshi Sugimoto's work. The mastery of texture and space creates a sense of mysterious beauty that is truly captivating. This led to a design that captures the essence of contemporary art with a hint of mystery.
