Production Technology
The Ladon S1 Tsd Edition is developed using advanced 3D modeling techniques, aerodynamic concepting, and mythological aesthetic simulation. Its overall structure has been meticulously optimized for exceptional airflow, while lightweight composite materials enhance efficiency and performance. Great care is taken with panel alignment, surface curvature, and material integration. Forged carbon fiber serves as the foundation for custom parts, creating a design that is beautiful, and feasible.
Design Challenge
The greatest challenge was executing this entire project solo, using over 20 software tools throughout the process. It was my first time learning Unreal Engine while simultaneously designing the vehicle, which added a steep learning curve. Blending Greek mythology with a modern supercar style was conceptually difficult,especially designing meaningful yet realistic elements. The gill like hood vents were inspired by a sudden observation of a serpent’s scales and nostrils.
Project Duration
The Ladon S1 Tsd Edition project started in February 2024 in Hangzhou, China, and was completed in late May 2024. The modeling process began on February 8, with final renders completed between May 15 and May 17. Poster series were finalized on May 19 and May 22, while the second version of the official video was completed on May 29. The project was entirely developed remotely using Autodesk Maya and Unreal Engine.
Operation Flow
Ladon S1 Tsd Edition was fully modeled and designed independently in Autodesk Maya, including the base reference prototype Ares Modena S1, which was first recreated from zero and then customized. It delivers a dynamic experience through visual and conceptual interaction. Aggressive bodylines, dual spoilers, and glowing green accents evoke motion and intensity. Myth meets machine design invites users to feel the performance, not just see it.
Research
This project began with visual research into hypercar modifications and mythological symbolism. The main goal was to explore how aggressive styling and cultural motifs could be merged in a believable concept. Using Maya and Unreal Engine, the bodywork was sculpted to balance tension and elegance. Comparative studies with real vehicles helped refine proportion and aerodynamics. The result is a symbolic, yet function-driven visual identity.
Inspiration
Is it the indomitable god of war Ares, or the colossal serpent Ladon guarding the golden apple tree? Good and evil lie in a single thought. The Ladon S1 Tsd Edition draws inspiration from Greek mythology, using the serpent Ladon as a core symbol. Design elements reference Zeus’s thunder, Ares’s spear, Medusa’s hair, and the serpent’s fangs, nostrils, and venom. A dark carbon fiber base is broken by green lines accents, disrupting the monotony of the original design.
