A hybrid carry system designed for content creators with an active lifestyle. It integrates a dedicated side-mounted tripod holder and an attachment system that allows the bag to securely connect to the tripod pole during use. Once mounted, the bag acts as a stabilising counterweight while providing quick access to equipment. The elevated configuration keeps the bag off the ground, improving cleanliness, stability, and workflow efficiency.

Main Body 100% polyester with polyurethane coating, front panel 100% polyurethane, lining 100% polyester, waterproof zipper with metal hardware, weight 0.78 kg, volume 6 L. Shoulder strap can be switched between left and right shoulder use with a carabiner style buckle. Main compartment for essentials, with side-access zipper for quick camera access. Back panel uses foam padding with breathable mesh for comfort and ventilation
The main creative challenge was engineering a secure attachment between the bag and tripod pole. Tripods vary in pole diameter, so the system needed flexibility without relying on costly injection-molded snap components. Developing an adjustable yet stable solution using soft goods construction required multiple iterations. Another obstacle was refining the workflow to remain effortless, leading to the integration of quick-release buckles for fast locking and unlocking.

worn cross-body for active movement, with gear organized for quick reach. The tripod is carried in dedicated side or rear holders. When filming begins, the tripod is removed and deployed. Two straps on the back wrap around the tripod pole and secure the bag in place. The bag hangs elevated, acting as added weight for stability while keeping equipment clean and accessible. A quick-access side compartment allows instant camera retrieval. After shooting, it detaches and returns to carry mode.
User centered design research focused on workflow challenges of solo content creators in indoor and outdoor environments. Methods included observation, task mapping, interviews, field testing and usability trials. Key issues were slow tripod access, hard to reach gear and bags getting dirty when placed on the ground then worn again. Attaching the bag to the tripod keeps it elevated, improves access and acts as a stabilising counterweight
Inspired by solo creators, especially fitness creators, who like filming in dynamic environments where rapid setup, gear stability, and on-the-go organization are constant challenges. Loose equipment on the floor is a distraction, a hazard, and a workflow killer. Smork's bag mounts directly onto the tripod, keeping gear elevated, accessible, and tidy, enabling quick setup, stability, and seamless transitions between locations.
