Residential Design for LONGFOR
This project offers more than physical space. It conveys a contemporary philosophy of dwelling poetry through three design languages including restrained luxury, natural order, and the ritual of home returning, complemented by spatial sequencing, material tactility, and the rhythm of light and shadow. This not only represents a breakthrough in residential design but also provides new ideas and directions for city living solutions in the future.

This project, exclusively tailored for the urban middle class elite, corporate executives, and private business owners, introduces the concept of garden living into high rise residences. It adopts amixed height layout, integrating high rise flats and low rise villas to address land constraints while ensuring ample public space. By merging villa level courtyards with flat level expansive views, it provides a lifestyle that combines privacy with spaciousness.
Garden Living, A Hybrid Model of High Rise Buildings and Courtyards, Refined Circulation, Humanized Design, Sustainable Material System
The project prioritizes sustainability, featuring plenty of eco friendly and recyclable materials like stone and aluminum. These materials undergo polishing processes for improved durability and aesthetic appeal. A zoning approach is employed, with stone predominantly used in the lower levels and paint applied to the upper levels. All materials are customized in factories for excellent waterproof and moisture resistant properties, ensuring the project meets the highest quality standards.
The core innovation lies in successfully adapting the garden living concept to high rise buildings, seamlessly merging villa level courtyards with flat level expansive views. Moreover, the project marks the first implementation of the fourth generation residence model in Chongqing, leveraging innovative spatial planning and material applications to demonstrate how high quality living environments can be achieved even under the constraints of limited land resources.
The project was designed and developed in Chongqing in October 2023, and completed and delivered in Chongqing in June 2025.
Refined circulation and humanized design enhance the daily living experience. A dry return home system is created, where a 150 meter luxury stone gate and covered walkways connect the drop off zone all the way to the residential lobby. The main entrance is recessed, with the stone wall directly facing the street. The pedestrian entry is positioned to the side, balancing privacy and Feng Shui principles. The communal space on the elevated ground floor fosters social interaction among residents.
Chongqing faces scarce land resources and limited supply of villa properties. With its experience in crafting high end residences, Longfor has pioneered a hybrid model that integrates high rise buildings and courtyards, redefining the relationship among people, architecture, and nature within a framework of intensive development. Nestled in the core section of Jinkai Avenue, the project balances a distinguished urban presencewith a quiet atmosphere, embodying outward prestige and inward poetry.
The facade draws inspiration from the spoilers of supercars and the letter T in the word TOP, infusing the building with a sense of modernity and dynamism. Through gentle yet restrained horizontal lines, warm and refined materials, and rounded corners, it creates a new, floating presence reminiscent of a hyperfluid form. Aluminum panels and stone in varying colors are artfully utilized to enrich the facade with distinct textures, enhancing the overall aesthetic value.
