Pendant for noble code design sàrl
Named for both the Roman god of the sea and the distant gas giant, Neptune explores the shared mystery of the oceanic abyss and deep space. This statement pendant serves as a talisman for the explorer, merging fluid energy with a bold, celestial silhouette. Asymmetrical loops create a sophisticated infinity motif, mimicking planetary rings and rolling tides. At its heart, a central gemstone provides a peaceful anchor, while flush set diamonds trail like sunlight on water. Designed to interact with movement, its airy, lightweight frame captures light from every angle in a rhythmic, living glow.

This pendant merges the ocean’s fluid energy with the airy dance of the stars into a bold silhouette evocative of a mysterious marine or celestial creature. Asymmetrical sweeping loops create a sophisticated infinity motif, capturing the powerful rhythm of planetary rings and tides in motion. At their heart, a central gemstone acts as a focal point, anchoring the structure with a deep, peaceful presence. Flush-set diamonds along the arcs mimic sunlight dancing on water or shimmering stars.

Neptune is engineered via high-precision CAD, optimized for lost-wax casting. To honor the design's spirit, the recommended realization is high-polished 18kt white gold for a mirror-like finish with a central pear-cut aquamarine and brilliant-cut diamonds. The diamonds are flush-set into the sweeping arcs and the main body to achieve a seamless shimmering wake and a sleek modern feel.
The challenge was to create an intricate statement structure that remains lightweight and practical for production. The solution involved a strategically voided geometry, splitting the design into three components. This modular approach reduced the final weight to only 10.9g in 18kt gold and significantly improved access for precision polishing and gem-setting. Integrated joints allow for fast, easy welding, bridging high-end complexity with practical, workshop-friendly craftsmanship.
The Neptune pendant was developed as a flagship concept for Noble Code Design, a jewelry design studio based in Geneva, Switzerland. The project transitioned from conceptual research to final rendering in 2025. The design reached a global audience when it was officially selected for exhibition at the Digital Jewelry Week in October 2025 in Milan, Italy.
Neptune is designed as a statement pendant that interacts dynamically with light and body movement. Its airy silhouette allows it to rest gracefully against the wearer, providing a bold look without the weight of traditional heavy jewelry. The carefully placed openings ensure that light enters from all sides, causing the central gemstone and the "shimmering wake" of diamonds to sparkle from every angle. This creates a rhythmic, living glow that changes as the wearer moves through different environments.
Research focused on engineering digital models to streamline physical workshop workflows. Through direct collaboration with craftsmen, objectives prioritized polishing access, welding efficiency, and gem-setting tolerances. Methodology involved iterative weight balancing to ensure cost-efficiency for small and medium-sized workshops. Results yielded a three-part modular assembly that simplifies production. This research empowers jewelers of all sizes to create outstanding, high-end pieces in a time-efficient way, bridging digital precision with traditional craftsmanship.
Neptune explores two unfathomable frontiers: the silent oceanic abyss and the cosmic reaches of deep space. Inspired by the duality of its namesake—the Roman god of the seas and the distant gas giant—the design explores the shared mystery of these unknown worlds. It is not just a pendant, but a talisman for the explorer, reminding us that whether we look down into the water or up at the stars, some infinite wonder still stands before us.
Neptune Pendant has been a Iron winner in the Jewelry Design award category in the year 2025 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition.
