Flower Exhibition Center for MINJIANG VILLAGE
To diversify the proposed osmanthus exhibition hall in Minjiang village, MUDA-Architects integrated it with a business conference center, a township training center and related merchandise sales. The design was inspired by Western Sichuan folk dwellings based on the consideration of native elements, and modern aesthetic techniques were introduced as innovation to the irregular-shaped site by stretching a spiral from plane vertically. The exhibition hall was ultimately conceived with an upturned ground floor, an enclosed exhibition and conference floor and an exposed panorama roof platform.

At the end of 2019, MUDA-Architects received the entrustment of the owner to design a osmanthus exhibition hall in Minjiang village around the main urban area of Shouan town to build a diversified natural ecological exhibition space integrating flower planting exhibition center, business conference center, township training center and surrounding product sales.
Exhibition Center, art, travelling, hospitality
Through natural curling and artistic processing, the building creates a multi-functional experience space with open space and continuous wall and roof. At the same time, the roof of the whole building is made of blue tiles and local wood structure, and the external facade is treated with scattered openings. The roof is equipped with skylights to introduce natural light. Based on the local materials, combined with the contemporary breakthrough in conventional methods, to achieve a new expression of modernity and locality.
The project site is in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, China. Now the design is completed and estimated date of completion in September,2020.
The project is located in an irregular triangle. It is designed to fill the whole plot with a free spiral line, determine the building plan, and then stretch vertically to form a simple and unique space. People are naturally drawn into the building like water.
Inspired by the works of art, the design uses the traditional roof forms and materials of Sichuan folk houses to intervene in modern aesthetic techniques, abstract deformation, and the small exhibition hall is like a sculpture to form a new architectural form with simple image and great tension.
