Zhiwen next generation thermometer is an evolution for their previous products with a unique form factor compare to other wearable thermometers in the market, it is designed to be used with or without a smartphone. The friendly and unique patch is water resistant, easy to clean and easy to be placed under child's arm by soft adhesive. The design not only pushes the patch outside of the clinical thermometer stereotype, but also hides the complexity of the components inside. Built-in humidity and air quality sensor protect the kids from allergens and toxins. Zhiwen's mobility benefits user everywhere.

Advanced Bluetooth chip(can be detected from 40 m away) Humidify and air-qualify sensors Back-lid LCD display. ABS, silicone(medical level), sheet metal as main materials for manufacturing the housing.
The size, shape, and thickness of the patch are very critical for this project. When a designer starts this project, the designer needs to work with a hardware engineer (make sure he can get the smallest components and also meet the performance requirement) and mechanical engineer(create a special layout for the sensor, charging contacts, battery, and PCB within a tiny space).
The project started in June 2018 in Qinghuangdao, China and finished in June 2019 in Qinghuangdao, China.
First of all, push the center button of the device, pick out the patch from the device, parents placed the thermometer under kid's arm by using disposable soft adhesive, user can choose use smartphone or the main device for checking the body temperature immediately (after 5-10 seconds), User can check the temperature data through app or the display on the device. the data of humidity and air quality will also be shown in the main device to protect kids from allergens and toxins.
We researched competitive market (common spec of the competitors, price range, technology feature and so forth), we also visited the local hospitals and families to find the pain points of current temperature measurement tools. A compact, reliable, intuitive and accurate thermometer is what users want. After testing the working prototypes, we dive into the industrial design to make the products way more easy to use and also meet popular aesthetics.
The current temperature measurement tools include mercury thermometer, electronic thermometer, ear thermometer, and forehead thermometer are not user -friendly for the kids. They take a longer time for parents to set up and get accurate results by a couple minutes. Kids need a new convenient, sustainable, intuitive and accurate tool for better body temperature measurement. Also air quality and humidity are what parents concern about their kids.
