Residential House for Fancy Space Lab
This project is an interesting work of space renovation. The owner of the house, an architect, got to know exactly about the defects of the original floor plans. In view of the owner’s detailed requirements and suggestions, the designer did a smart design for three walls in the house to make more reasonable space layout, to optimize the moving lines and dimensions, also to achieve multi-functions for daily life. It is a typical interior design project with livable modern style and clear multi-functional spaces.

Two inclined walls was designed with folding lines to tighten the vision of relatively large stairway and to set a visual block for the dining area, so as to lead guests directly to the living room on the left. A partition wall was built in between, and the direction of stairway changed to the left , also the existed aisle renovated to increase the width of projection wall, so as to make the sight distance normal.

We met the first design challenge at the hallway. The existed hallway was straightly open to the dining area, a relatively private area. The living room, a relatively public area, is on the left of the hallway with some height difference. And the second challenge we met was the dining area almost surrounded by aisles with no complete wall. The basement seemed not practicable to build a audio-visual hall on the existed left part as it was a too long space to make projection on the wall, and the width was not suitable either.
The project started in April 2018 and finished in December 2019 in Changsha.
