Fritz Hanse, Victorian elements, iron-made embellishments, the classic building, entertainment club, tea rooms, membership restaurant
1. Utilize the existing staircase, wooden beams and columns to repair some items to stay an old texture. 2. Maintain and reinforce the original structure of old architecture to keep its historical feel. Materials: OSEKA carpet, DULUX painting
The design had to restore the wooden structures that had been damaged, and considered their energy saving and thermal insulation and appearance. The designers needed to use reasonably the transitional spaces at different zones.
The project started in Julyl 2018 and finished in May 2020 in Shanghai, China.
Victorian elements are noticeable from the details. The hardwood floor and carpets with diverse styles incubate varying regional atmosphere. The beauty of decoration and nature is merged, as plants, and saleable art works and furnishings are in common sight. The iron-made embellishments, the retained wealth of the house, are turned into staircase hand-railing after repair. It reveals incredible spectacles under lights, enabling people to put all their worries behind.
Fritz Hansen is not only a furniture brand, but also represents a lifestyle defined by daily habits that go deep in people's mind. In this space, diversified experiences brought by food, entertainment and furniture define a new lifestyle, which offers a destination to people who enjoy life, pursue quality and desire to try new things.
The combination of catering, entertainment, and furniture brand is a prospective attempt, unparalleled in Shanghai. Supported by Fritz Hansen, a Denmark furniture brand with a history of over 140 years, the old house is revitalized. And it combines daily activities of catering and entertainment, restoring spatial vitality in a friendly way.
