Dropper’s upper section’s transparent design allows the customers to view all six cylinders filled with various coffee capsules, which makes it easier to choose their preferable flavor. In addition to its ease of use and design, Dropper is energy efficient and eco-friendly.

Unique Properties

Meama Dropper can hold 810-1290 coffee capsules and the exact quantity depends on the types of the capsules. The dropper is modular and holds 6 mechanisms for each taste. As it is modular you can configure the quantity of 37 mm diameter and 51 mm diameter, which lets costumers choose their favorite taste, and while it is transparent clients can see the condition of the products and not worry about it. Customers money is safe if the machine failed to give the product back as a sign of asking for forgiveness it will transfer your money back to you

Production Technology

Tempered glass for more durability and safety; uniquely shaped extruded aluminum for each type of capsule steel parts are covered with powder coating; every part which is in touch with the capsules suits the food safety standards.

Design Challenge

drinking coffee is a kind of a ritual for coffee lovers. people who stand up early do not often have time for that, and not everybody has a good coffee maker at home. Here we came up with the idea that everybody who loves coffee deserves this ritual and good quality coffee, that is why we made Meama Dropper into an office type of vending machine where you have a chance to do a morning coffee-making ritual and dring a good quality coffee. The hardest task was to make a machine where would be held different types of coffee capsules, some prefer to drink it with big mugs filter coffee, and some prefer espresso-based coffees, and the quantity of these different types of coffee lovers are different in every other office. So had to create one machine for all of them and the only way out here was the modularity to let them choose their own configuration. To make the mechanism modular was the hardest because the size and shape of the capsules are so different, but after a while came up with the mechanism type

Project Duration

The project started in February 2018 in Tbilisi and finished in September 2018, and was exhibited in China, Guang zhou in November 2018, and in Moscow in September 2018

Operation Flow

Using the machine is very easy, you will only need the smartphone Scan the QR code to get the application After you have registered you scan the same QR but this time with the application and it gives you the entire menu Choose your desired taste/tastes with the desired quantity and buy the machine will count if it gave the same quantity you ordered and if turned out that it is wrong it will transfer your money back, so there will never be any cases when you pay and do not get your product

Research

Regarding the increasing demand of high quality coffee in business centers and offices, Meama made a local research via CC and digital survey forms. Results showed the need of the fastest, easiest and cashless access to coffee capsules. The research helped to create two different visual concepts in order to suit various office interiors. Besides the research, active communication with B2B customers inspired our team to make coffee capsules affordable through a smart device.

Inspiration

We made Dropper transparent to let customers see the condition of the product, it holds 6 blends and 2 types of capsules. It gives the coffee capsule to the customer so they can brew it in the coffee maker. There have been many cases when traditional vending machines took the money but did not give the product back, which we all hate so decided to make the machine with the function that if it could not give the product back, then it would return the money back
