Demonstration Area for Chongqing Jialian Landscape Design Co., Ltd.
The project is located on the lakeside, surrounded by gentle slopes, green areas and forests. However, the original site is long and narrow. After digging into the site characteristics and deeply discussing the situation, use the smooth curve to reverse the disadvantages of the space as an advantage, combined with the pure white wall to interpret the rich sensory experience under different turning spaces, and a dance journey into the depths of the canyon has started.

Through the extraction of the cultural characteristics of Xinmi, such as precipitous mountains, curve roads, canyon, terraced fields, visions in seasons. The designer plan the long and narrow space elaborately, and transform the curves and site structures into a secret valley journey. A sculpture of the spirit deer leads the entrance of the canyon that increase the ever-changing rich experience by the turning radian and the length of roads. Walking out of the canyon, one side is the wilderness transformed into terraced fields, and the other side is the building seemly growing in this landscape, peace and tranquility.
Canyon, nature, art, oriental aesthetics, inspiration
Adjust measures to local conditions and be modest to nature. The air in the north of China is dry, which makes the color of the local stone becoming gray, so we choose the material with darker colors to a balance with the natural materials and the environment. White concrete embodies flexible space and structure mode. The characteristics of this material itself make it not only inject strength and thickness into the building space, but also soften its cold visual appearance texture, weaken heaviness, and clearly reflect the boundary of the building.
The current situation of the site is long and narrow, and the field of vision is affected by the disordered peripheral buildings. The problems have covered how to look for the value of the site, to shield the adverse interference from the outside world, to shape the new space experience and aesthetic value, and to transmit the waterfront lifestyle in the future . After in-depth excavation of the site and repeated discussion and deduction, the team took advantage of smooth curve to reverse the disadvantages of space, and combined with pure white wall to deduce the rich sensory experience under different turning spaces, thus opening a secret journey into the deep of the canyon corridors.
The project is located in Xinmi City, Zhengzhou, Henan Province, China. It was started in January 2020 and completed in August 2020.
This project creates "nine sections of memory landscape" through "nine sceneries of Canyon", which is a design concept of "one scene at a time, changing different sceneries step by step", so as to maximize the participation and experience of customers and form a sense of value identity. We hope that people and nature will have a heated dialogue in the canyon space and make sparks. At the same time, through the fashionable and modern design language, using the cutting-edge space elements, and using the expression techniques full of the sense of future, science and technology, we can show the canyon space and catch people’s eyes. Stepping on the fantastic corridor of light, people are just like ramblers walking in the secret place of the canyon, looking for the "aesthetics of life" in the natural world.
Through the interpretation of the characteristics of Xinmi City, the overall spatial framework is a gully, a pool and a valley. Combining the steep and graceful Canyon, terraces and other geomorphic features with the circulation and change of natural seasons, it is intertwined with the life of urban people to explore a new way of life. In the real environmental infection, people are looking forward to a more vigorous future human settlement landscape.
Inspiration 1: Take the existing resources of the venue as inspiration. The 180-meter internal movement line can excavate the vertical relationship of the site and create a rich landscape experience. Inspiration 2: The local cultural characteristics of Xinmi City. Mountain dangers, road curves, canyons, terraces and other unique geographical attributes, different turning and changing spaces give more visual feasts.
