In order to integrate with nature, the architecture facade is featured with naturalization, modernization, simplicity, and refinement. The whole project is abstracted into a minimalist form, and a glass curtain wall is used to connect the indoor and outdoor, which reflects the beauty of the mutual penetration of modern architecture and nature. By adopting transparent art installation of crystal mountains and the symmetrical layout of the furniture, the space design creates aesthetic precipitation and humanistic charm of the city of Kunming.

The project is located in Yunnan, a historical city with splendid natural scenery. In order to integrate with nature, the architecture facade is featured with naturalization, modernization, simplicity, and refinement. The whole project is abstracted into a minimalist form, and a glass curtain wall is used to connect the indoor and outdoor, which reflects the beauty of the mutual penetration of modern architecture and nature.

Production Technology

In order to unify the interior and exterior, the color is integrated with nature. The lake blue and earth color are selected as the palette to achieve a state of harmony with the scenery. The classic beige and dark coffee colors that represent the combination of tradition and fashion are boldly used. Among them, the use of cotton and linen fabrics increases the breath of nature in the space, highlights the dialogue with nature.

Design Challenge

To maximize the transparency of space, the lighting of the floor-to-ceiling glass is designed so that visitors can enjoy the outdoor scenery from any perspective.

Project Duration

The project started in April 2019 and finished in September 2019 in Kunming, China.

Operation Flow

Taking advantage of the open view of the surrounding landscape, the large space must be sensitive and friendly to the environment in terms of color relations, so the cultural elements of sails are adopted in the hall to express the refinement of the local culture.

Research

With a flexible design, the space changes with historical context and environment. The furnishing is more like a dialogue with nature, with itself, and with life. From the visual color, the sense of touch and the feedback of light and shadow on the object, it is a comprehensive aesthetic experience of life.

Inspiration

Inspired by the collision of modernity and tradition, the project is a blending of ideal and reality, creating an ideal space with a unique and elegant style. The interior design uses modern language to re-interpret the national cultural characteristics so that the overall space turns out to be flexible, elegant, and distinct. The full use of natural light and the catalysis of materials greatly enhance the temperament and beauty of the space.

Project Overview

Gemdale the Voyager Sales Office has been a Silver winner in the Interior Space and Exhibition Design award category in the year 2021 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition. The Silver A' Design Award celebrates top-tier designs that embody excellence and innovation. This award acknowledges creations that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also highly functional, reflecting the designer's deep understanding and skill. Silver A' Design Award recipients are recognized for their contribution to raising industry standards and advancing the practice of design. Their work often incorporates original innovations and elicits a strong emotional response, making a notable impact on the improvement of everyday life.
