Residence for CINCHstudio Spacial Design
The essential memory of home and family is built upon the emotional connection between people. A space, on the other hand, is the medium, allowing interaction of family members, making memories and developing core values. It nourishes and strengthens the family bonds. Inspired by the basic concept of Newton's Cradle: five spheres with same weight hung side by side closely together, pushing and swinging back and forth on the sides.

Keeping the original big-sized windows, natural lighting is greatly introduced in the space, helps reduce use of electric lights. Different from common high-end living spaces with stones as the main material, this case is applied with wallpapers and artificial leathers to create the same effect yet reduce the damage mining process causes to the environment.
he whole space has the traces of arches, curved lines and ovals, interweaving together in different areas. With the use of big and small curves, the detailed design turns the two-dimensional shapes into a three-dimensional sense. Looking from the front, they are just simple lines. While looking from the other angles, they can become three-dimensional shapes, creating a deeper depth, a detailed sphere.
This project is finished in August 2021 in Macau.
The perpetual swinging demonstrates the conservation of momentum, as if five spheres are working together to transmit the force. The concept is just like how family members interact with each other in the living environment. Home, is then the center where energy flows, going back and forth.
The public area is designed to reduce the use of traditional partitions. Thus, the ventilation is better and it can reduce unnecessary building materials' waste. The consistent style of the design offers a comfortable living environment, which also makes daily aesthetics and core values correspond to each other. When design satisfies the owner, it also can boost sustainability by reducing the possibility of renovation and redecoration.
Inspired by the basic concept of Newton's Cradle: five spheres with same weight hung side by side closely together, pushing and swinging back and forth on the sides. It is said that the steady rhythm and the regular movement can make one focus or stop one's worry.
