Design Challenge
Major challenge: anti-shock performance against harsh road conditions Solution: The surface of the tyre-like body is made from rubber and composite materials such as carbon black, which enhance the strength, wear resistance and shock resistance of the product.
Project Duration
The project started in 2022 in Shenzhen and finished in 2022.
Operation Flow
During the process of moving the device, the kinetic energy generated by the rotation of the body is converted into electric energy by the built-in generator system and stored in the battery pack, bringing a steady green energy supply to outdoor travel. The rotary shield on both sides of the device can protect the input and output terminal to enhance the safety of electricity use. The foldable handle ensures product stability and offers easy storage.
Research
Research goal: To seize the market through a tyre shaped outdoor power supply Research direction: Easy to carry, high power, high capacity Market research: Online research and professional research company data Social impact: Taking self-generating, easy handling, and ecological compatibility as the starting point, the tyre shape design is finally used to make the product more portable. It breaks through the existing energy storage model and achieves lower-carbon travels.
Inspiration
Traditional outdoor power supply is inconvenient to carry. The tyre shaped design of Light Cycle S1 allows users to move it easily by pulling the handle, and this design also avoids the homogenous competition of product shapes.
Project Overview
Jackery-LightCycle S1 Outdoor Power Supply has been a Silver winner in the Energy Products, Projects and Devices Design award category in the year 2021 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition.
