Amblem Home Furnishing

Exhibition Hall for BW Architect

Incorporating constructivism into space, the collision between rationality and irrationality creates a rich and confusing spatial effect. Interesting geometric gardens make the Amblem Home Furnishing space rigorous, symmetrical, focused on perspective, and have a rationalistic sense of ritual and worship. Volume stairs with rich space and functions: interweaving and running through each other in the space, and opening in the space. All kinds of hollows produce all kinds of wonderful spatial effects.

Production Technology

In a 60-meter-deep factory building, in order to meet various office functions and create an internally rich space, the designer's strategy is to combine all office spaces that need lighting, discharge along the wall. The spare space in the middle is designed as a flexible public activity place. The problem of poor lighting in the middle is solved by opening a elliptical sky window.

Design Challenge

The main challenge of this project is to create an interesting space experience in the monotonous surrounding environment. As offices and exhibition halls, we need to pay great attention to people's feelings in them. The blocks of this work are interrelated and interwoven, and how to give people a space with rich space but clear moving lines is also one of the challenges.

Project Duration

project was finished May, 2021, through two years, located at the economic development zone of Linping District, Hangzhou.

Operation Flow

The project is located in the economic development zone of Linping District, Hangzhou. It is a marketing building with office and reception functions. Like most industrial parks, the monotonous factory buildings around the project are densely packed, and the landscape is quite poor. So the designer and the owner immediately decided to seek the landscape inward and create an "inner garden". As reflected in the Taoist thought of "small hidden in the wild, big hidden in the city", you may not have to go to a quiet place in the wild to find the leisure interest and beauty. It is in the busy downtown area, just like the noisy factory area where the project is located, that you can find your own way. For example, the traditional private garden is just in four white walls, however, it is including rich interior space.

Research

This project is mainly influenced by Chinese Taoist thoughts and Russian constructivist masters. I have some shallow opinions on Taoist thoughts, hoping to be integrated with my design. My assistant designer suggested that rational lines should be incorporated to give more changes. I thought it was very good, so I adopted it. After work, we all look for many good works and get inspiration from them. I quickly browse a lot of articles in my free time on weekdays, and when I see the excellent ones, I will collect them first, and wait until the rest day to browse them carefully.

Inspiration

The designer extracted a line from a constructivist painting and put it into the project plane. This painting is by Russian structuralist EL.Lissitzky, named "Proun". The "rational" constructivist painting, with a seemingly "irrational" style, has been inserted. Some are in the composition. The designer also integrated the elements of ancient Chinese gardens. Visitors can swim along the veranda on both sides, but see completely different and changing spatial effects.
