Residential House for Hengyueh Design
Located at the mouth of the Danshui River, the house enjoys a great ocean view from floor-to-ceiling windows. To bring the outdoor scenery into the house, four curved panels extended to the canopy to convey the image of undulating waves. As a guest house to host guests, this gorgeous visual feast is packed with marble instead of the warmth of a residential interior design.

As a guest house to host guests, this gorgeous visual feast is packed with marble instead of the warmth of a residential interior design. In the stable tone, the natural stone textures evoke visual tensions. Along with black, gray and white colors in a gradient overlay, they create a stable and unhurried environment. With the perfect proportion of metal and mirror surfaces, extravagant light and shadow are created under the glowing light.

To add grandeur to the space, the original partition walls are removed. The new open-floor layout is transparent, which simultaneously links the interaction of the living room, kitchen, wine cabinet and bar countertop. In this west-facing house, the master bedroom is connected to the bathroom. Exposed to the sun's heat, the space is free of moisture. Meanwhile, the windows maximize the amount of light and capture the breathtaking outdoor views.
The project is finished in August 2022 in New Taipei City, Taiwan.
The display shelf next to the entrance is decorated with art collections, and the yellowish light eliminates the coldness of the inky stone, creating a gentle and calm entrance. The erected titanium-plated metal pieces are staggered amber mirrors that serve as a partition for the vista view, exuding a sense of prestige while also delineating the entrance area. The marble pattern on the main TV wall sets a magnificent tone of the space, while the flowing body evokes strength and power. On both sides, the titanium plates are folded to create soft curvature and balance rigidity of the stone. Without a wall behind the sofa, the counter table and the sofa are unobstructed to allow smooth interaction between guests. The marble counter table uses dividing lines and light sources to outline the delicate layers, while the rear showcase is lined with a black mirror to reflect the marble TV wall. At a glance, the real view of the counter table and the virtual image of the mirror create a playful visual depth of field. In the space with a simple and concise tone, the corridor to the private sphere is covered with mirrors to create an illusion of some extra footage area in the space as well as hiding the doorway to the bathroom.
The use of large amounts of mirror materials in a dark theme creates an atmosphere that is deep and profound, though not heavy. Although the elements in the space are mostly rigid and cold, there is still a moderate percentage of pure white and gray to balance the visual temperature and sense of vision. The rich veins of marble, light gray leather furniture, and corrugated sheets on the wall in the master bedroom help enforce harmony in the interior decor.
Located at the mouth of the Danshui River, the house enjoys a great ocean view from large floor-to-ceiling windows. To bring the outdoor scenery into the house, four curved panels extended to the canopy to convey the image of undulating waves. The curved leather layer is hand-brushed with a special lacquer to give it a rustic feel and soften the dullness brought by dark colors at the same time. Interspersed in the middle of the curved panel are black mirrors, which scatter golden light under the crystal chandelier, just like the glittering sunlight reflecting on the surface of the sea.
