Office for 8 Bit
8 Bit project is an office plan for the IT information department of an insurance corporation. Inspired by the firm's colleagues' working style, the designer has added diverse and creative elements to the space. In the past, photographs and images were made through stacking imaging of 8-bit pixels. Therefore, the interior designer has echoed the concept of collecting and gathering information and putting it into the space. The clever use of gradient color carpeting delivers the wave spectrum and visualizes the wavelength frequency of information transmission.

Moving to the bar area, one will find a place composed of cubic units partially colored and pieced together with the word BAR. Interestingly, these units can also be lit up to accent the area. A transitioning area in front of it is defined by yellow and black gradient carpet flooring that further leads to the meeting room.
The design team has chosen materials that comply with the Green Building Materials Environmental Label and are widely used in flooring to realize the demand for a friendly environment. Using materials that avoid secondary processing effectively reduces air pollution caused by construction. Furthermore, LED lights are used, and it is energy saving. Besides, the circuit of LED lights is subdivided into different areas to turn on specific lights based on users needs, thus reducing power consumption and realizing the idea of saving energy and carbon reduction.
The project was completed in Taipei in April 2022
The selection of moveable walls offers a flexible and adaptable solution for office space, making the most of it. As a result, this effectively reduces idle space. The open meeting space is between the Information Research and Development Department and the Operations Department so that the two working areas can be integrated. Plus, the whiteboard walls are conveniently placed in the discussion areas for daily meetings and brainstorming activities.
The eight bit elements are used as the design style throughout the space, breaking the standardized workplace atmosphere and creating a lively and exciting office space that bursts with imagination. The multi-functional and diversified layout gives the space possibilities and flexibilities to meet the working style of IT staff.
The designer uses a combination of different color panels on the corporate signature wall at the entrance to outline the corporate name. It can be reordered to feature other holidays and festive seasons, creating a diverse look. What is more, the pixel style continues to be applied to the corporate logo to enliven the impression of the space. The green, yellow and taupe tones are used as the main color scheme of the lounge area, creating a soft and comfortable vibe. The corridor with light brown wooden floor and grass green ceiling not only creates a unique aesthetic effect but also echoes the color configuration of the corporate logo.
