The Soleil Building
Office for Taiyo Setsubi Inc.
This is the office building for the solar power company based in Osaka. They wish to design the dynamic and spiritual worldview lurking deep in the mountains by recreating huge rocks which often seen deep in Japanese mountains in the city. Chiseled with artificial rocks and vertical wooden lattices, the building facade manifests the design concept "Fusion of Nature and Art." The artificial rock embedding facade of the ground floor to the 2nd floor continued to the entrance and the artificial rock merges with a sculpture on a theme of love. Art is layered throughout the whole building.

Unique Properties
“Fusion of Nature and Art” This is the office building for the solar power company based in Osaka. "Design the future with nature" is the corporate philosophy of the company and its infrastructure is designed to embody the philosophy by adhering to carbon-neutral practices, utilizing solar panels on the rooftop to power the building. We started planning the design based on “art” in the space, and choose artificial rocks as a foundation of “art.” We wish to design the dynamic and spiritual worldview lurking deep in the mountains by recreating huge rocks which often seen deep in Japanese mountains in the city. Chiseled with artificial rocks and vertical wooden lattices, the building facade manifests the design concept "Fusion of Nature and Art." Inspiration
The inspiration came from a giant rock stately stands deep in Japanese mountain. It stands quietly but exude a quiet dignity. Since ancient times, Japanese people believed that spirits dwell in all things like woods, rocks, water and plants in the nature. We hope that the artificial rocks we design will somehow holds the spirituality from the nature.
