Residence for JING Design
The lines on the wall are like ripples of water, and the arrangement and planning are minimalistic, with no complicated and elaborate trims or delicate cabinetry. The design is inspired by nature, and the beauty of life is the 'water' that can be seen everywhere. The designer took the curves and formlessness of water to shape the openness of the space. The smooth lines draw the continuity of the space, which breaks the boundary between the public and private areas in an unintentional way.

Wall-Irregular water: The designer expressed the dynamic imagery of water on the wall, giving the space an interesting visual expression through smooth and aesthetic lines. Space-three-dimensional water: The interior design is a three-dimensional concept with vertical, deep, and horizontal dimensions. When the quietness of the pool is broken by an external force, it produces not only orderly ripples but also undulating waves. The designer replicates the dynamic visual expression in the whole room, creating the look of waves through furnishings and cabinetry planning.

Building materials: artistic coating, wood veneers, system cabinets, wood flooring, stone, ironwork, mineral paint, blue velvet carpets, etc. The color scheme is a pure light tone, complemented by a grayish artistic coating as the framework. In addition, the designer used the color and texture of the wood grain to outline the changes in each area and then added furnishings to emphasize the aqua-blue soul of the project. Under the daylight, the interior is tranquil and elegant.
The concept of water can be seen in space. In addition, the designer tried to put the idea of 'balance' into it. The appearance of water is varied, beyond the impression of 'blue', 'droplets', and 'curves', it is both visible and invisible. Given this, the designer perfectly integrated the plurality, purity, and breath of water into the interior. People in the space feel the mood does not exist in a single entity, but is a comprehensive real, and can understand its natural imagery, then finally achieve 'balance'.
The project finished in April 2021 in Taiwan.
The layout has been redesigned to provide better lighting and the client likes the sense of space when opening the door. In contrast to the standard framed view at the window, the designer planned a curved platform to enhance the sense of continuity of daylight with the design of height difference. Moreover, the designer installed warm linear light strips under the platform to enhance the light effect of the curtains in the longitudinal direction, and at the same time to form a warm atmosphere as a fireplace.
The designer took two concepts-water and balance-as the theme. The established image of water may be blue, round, and so on. However, a residence is a place where users stay for a long time, it is crucial to pay more attention to the balance between space and people in interior design. The color scheme is a pure light color. The designer used the natural texture of the materials to create a purely visual effect and used large areas of artistic coating to connect the transitions. Ripples are visualized in the corridors, windows, and furnishings, filling the space naturally and smoothly.
The client is fond of the images that occur in nature, such as the leaves blown by the wind, the shadows created by the light penetrating the treetops, and the lines of the stream flowing from high to low. The impression of natural elements is the ultimate comfort. The designer applied natural elements to the project, taking the concept of 'water' to show its softness and strength in the cabinets and walls and to find a balance of natural elements in the functional interior design.
