Residential Interior for Zarysy
The concept behind this interior design was to create a captivating and modern atmosphere while preserving the original authenticity of the space. The design incorporated curved shapes and handpicked materials inspired by midcentury modern architecture, which provided an appealing contrast to the cozy yet rustic feel of a log cabin. The redesign of the building's layout involved significant changes to both the structure and construction, resulting in more interior openings, larger glazed areas such as the full-width window in the living room, and an overall optimization for multi-family use.

I would say that this project brings a fresh perspective to highlander architecture in Poland. The construction solutions implemented in dealing with the log house are quite innovative, but I believe the most innovative aspect of the project lies in the aesthetics. This is a subtle combination of various architectural styles ranging from modernism to mid-century modern and Scandinavian design. My passion lies in creating spaces that are not only warm and inviting, but also daring and adventurous. An exclusively tailored, truly one-of-a-kind experience.

The interior layout has been carefully redesigned by creating more everyday space so essential for vacation house interior. It required major construction alterations - e.g. 870cm of living room external wall have been replaced with a sliding window. The challenge was to create a construction solution which will provide enough support but retain a great aesthetics. It needs to blend new elements and the original crooked log walls inside and outside of the house. I choose a custom steel frames settled on the extended foundations which have provided a solid support for the house structure.
Although not located in the high mountains, this house was built by Polish highlanders, according to their traditions and style. Polish highland architecture is specific and much less modern in comparison to Alpine architecture, it has a distinctive archetype in Poland, often referred to as unleavened, and this presented a challenge for me as I sought to blend tradition with modernity, infusing my own stylistic character into the interior. Despite these challenges, I'm thrilled with how it turned out. I hope it inspires others to see the beauty and potential in highlander architecture.
The project started in November 2020 and finished in March 2021. Project is located in Maniow Maly near Wroclaw, Poland.
The estate serves as a summer vacation spot for multiple families. The challenge was to transform the traditional mountain log house into a more open, energetic, relaxing, and comfortable environment. Given that the number of guests can sometimes exceed a dozen people, the house had to be reconfigured to accommodate them all in a comfortable and inviting manner. To achieve this, the interior layout was carefully redesigned, creating more everyday space, and incorporating additional beds, storage, and bathrooms that are essential for this type of setting.
A search for a holy grail of interior design is a really bumpy road. From being an employee, a partner to establishing a new brand. From cracking the interior layouts to mixing colors and textures. This road was long, but there is a light in a tunnel. It’s an interior where people feel cozy and free, a place simple enough to be instantly familiar, but also interesting enough to be worth exploring. Spaces which bring energy every morning and which let us be calm at night. The mix is a bit complicated, but absolutely worth the effort.
Metallica, Scorpions and The Who already have their own orchestral albums, but what distinct their standard releases from the symphonic albums? The difference lies in new and intriguing acoustic depth, filled with power as well as softness and dimension. This is exactly what happened to this 2000’s wood log shack. The house has gone through a major refresh and the goal was to create a modern space but with respect to the log shack vibe. To enrich the space with a touch of colors and patterns.
