Production Technology

It is impressively designed with an aluminum alloy metal housing and surface recesses that would enhance heat dissipation, structural strength, functionality, and resistance to magnetic interference. The internal components have been treated to protect against moisture, humidity, and dust. Additionally, the highly integrated design of the internal hardware renders the SRC-880 compact and adaptable to different robot sizes, with over 70% hardware materials and over 60% energy economized.

Design Challenge

In fact, the rapid customization of the overall intelligent mobile robot construction, with the robot core controller as the smallest unit, places highly demanding requests on the controller. It is essential to exhibit robust arithmetic processing capabilities and adhere to stringent compatibility standards for all kinds of hardware components and software frameworks. This ensures that the controller can effectively handle complex working scenarios.

Project Duration

The project kicked off in July 2022 in Shanghai, wrapped up on April 2023 in Shanghai, and exhibited in September 2023 at the China International Industry Fair.

Operation Flow

The SRC-880 offers a full set of pre-developed functions and a robust component ecosystem. Once the core controller is installed, user can easily achieve integrated control of each component, complete the construction of intelligent mobile robots, and use them directly, which in turn drastically simplifies the manufacturing process. User can assign task orders to one or more robots through a remote control interface and monitor the work status and task progress from time to time.

Research

The primary concern of implementing intelligent mobile robots should be on streamlining workflows, enhancing productivity, and substituting inefficient, low value-added, or hazardous production processes. This will empower users to independently construct their own customized robotic systems across various industries. This procedure can effectively deliver high-quality services to workers, ease their workload, while enhancing productivity and safety measures.

Inspiration

With the increasing need for automation in industrial production due to the aging population and rising labor costs, the need for mobile robots may vary from task to task. The design team put forward a solution where the core controller of the mobile robot is the smallest unit, equipped with well-established software and hardware ecosystems. This enables rapid customization and construction of intelligent mobile robots by simple building steps, which in turn lowers the manufacturing threshold.
