Unique Properties
Smart Temp Guardian aims to address the difficulty parents face in providing water at a suitable temperature for preparing infant formula while on the go. Its 3D surround heating design, combined with a high capacity battery, enables the product to heat 100ml of room temperature water to 40 degrees Celsius within 4min. The AI smart chip extends the battery life to 30h, eliminating the need for frequent charging. The multiple temperature lock designs further enhance heat retention performance.

Production Technology
The liner is made of 316L stainless steel, while the outer wall adopts 304 steel. The vacuum between the two layers better prevents heat loss. The bottom shell is crafted from flame retardant PC, with a painted surface ensuring a consistent style of the product. This design not only allows the light inside to pass through for information display, but also avoids any potential danger caused by battery components on fire.
Design Challenge
The challenge is to balance rapid heating, long battery life and user comfort. The innovative 3D surround heating design, paired with a high power battery and PI thermal conductive film, allows the product to quickly elevate the water temperature to the desired level. The AI smart chip detects the water temperature and automatically activates or deactivates the heating function, which helps to save energy. The vacuum bottle body and the mouth featuring internal threads well prevent heat loss.
Project Duration
This project started in September 2022 in Hangzhou and finished in September 2023. The product was officially listed for sale on the Tmall platform in November 2023.
Operation Flow
A simple control area and two buttons are at the bottom, with a digital display showing water temperature in real time. The battery level indicator helps avoid heating interruptions due to low battery. To prevent infants from scalding caused by accidental spills, the bottle uses the child lock design, which automatically locks after 2min of inactivity and can be unlocked by pressing the two buttons for 2s. Temperature adjustment supports five settings for compatibility with various formulas.
Research
In modern society, many parents face a common challenge when going out with infants: how to access water at a right temperature for preparing formula anytime and anywhere. Due to higher sensitivity of infants to food temperatures, formula that is too hot or too cold may lead to gastrointestinal discomfort and even impact their health. Therefore, a water bottle able to offer parents the water at a right temperature while on the go has become a focal point in the development of infant products.
Inspiration
The design team, drawing inspiration from a profound understanding of the modern parenting life, has introduced this more convenient and intelligent water bottle to ensure that parents can effortlessly meet infant feeding needs while on the go. This product, by virtue of its rapid heating design, long battery life, and convenience of use, addresses issues commonly found in traditional counterparts, such as the difficulty in adjusting water temperature flexibly and poor heat retention.
Project Overview
Smart Temp Guardian Bottle has been a Silver winner in the Baby, Kids' and Children's Products Design award category in the year 2023 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition.
