It's a bionic design. Its overall shape is like a polar penguin, chubby and lovely, warm and elegant. In addition to making it look more vivid and interesting, the tilted shape also makes it easier to use, even for elderly or children. The front end of lid is raised like a penguin beak to prevent dust from falling into the spout. The back end of lid is raised to help users to screw the lid easily. The glass copper-plated inner tank can keep water 80 Celsius degrees after 6 hours, it's still hot enough for tea or coffee.

Production Technology

The shell is made of PP and with a round shape, it can protect the inner glass tank well. The water tank is made of copper-plated double layer glass and its mouth is very small, so it has very good insulation performance.

Design Challenge

The most difficult part is to find a way to make people feel warm from a ordinary materail.

Project Duration

It started in November 2018 in Hangzhou China and finished in July 2019.It has been sold more than 45000 pieces online during the past half year.

Operation Flow

Its handle is set perpendicular to the center of gravity, and when people hold it, it naturally tilts forward and can be easily used by both the elderly and children. The button on the top can control flow of water.

Research

According to our research,warmth is not only a feeling of touching, but also a feeling in mind,that means a product can look warm sometimes. So when we designed this jug,we paid more attention to people's feeling about warmth. Holding this jug is like touching a penguin in Antarctica.

Inspiration

In the winter,we need to hold the cold handle to get hot water from thermos.We would like to provide people a thermo jug,which can not only keep inside warm,but also look warm from outside. A penguin comes out to our mind,it lives in the extremely cold South pole,but its chubby and lovely body is still warm.We hope this jug can bring warmth to you in the deep mind.

Project Overview

Penguin Thermo Jug has been a Silver winner in the Bakeware, Tableware, Drinkware and Cookware Design award category in the year 2019 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition.
