Residential House for LSDCASA
Chongqing is a mountain city. The unique topographical conditions and the strong feelings of Plebeian growing here have become the starting point of design. Based on the real living needs of people, they discussed the rationality of space function planning and the possibility of space aesthetic form, presenting the artistic taste and delicate atmosphere of modern urban life.

For the design intention of Chongqing and Hong Kong Land Yorkshire lakefront villa, LSD sets out from the geographical characteristics of Chongqing, pursues rational and even groundbreaking design strategies to challenge irrational and impossible, and interprets the exquisite lifestyle that elites enjoy from the balance of space resources to the balance of beautiful life.
LSD, Open to the Sky, Create a sunken garden, Inward life
We demolish walls and open up the two villas, and thus increasingly disorder space is unfolded in front of us. This is an exciting adventure for designers: the box of space is broken yet connects to each other within multiple restrictions as well as due to a combination of materials, colors and blocks.
Given that only the first floor of this villa linking to the outdoor resources, how to allocate resources reasonably to achieve overall balance has therefor become a central problem before design.
The project started in April 2019 and finished in November 2019 in Chongqing
Straight into the porch is a capacious and bright reception room where we open up the three-story plane perpendicular to the second-story. Opening the skylight, a six-meter duplex villa with great light intensity is formed, and the balance of spatial sunlight is achieved by extending spatial dimension. Standing on the second and the third floor, different perspectives enable us to enjoy the glistening lakescape outside. Above our head we see four seasons come and go, sending sunlight and rain.
Be it large or small, the size of residence is never a change in spatial dimension for designers, but how to slowly expand space under the change. We focus on the natural texture of materials, and keep restoring the sense of reality of living. After unveiling the superficial decoration, life, temperature, and emotion are still traceable.
Living room is the place where people get engaged in daily activities. Considering its solidity and ambiguity that cannot be extracted separately, designers need to think of its connection with surroundings, achieve balance between spatial functionalism and artistic aesthetics for complicated requirements in reality, and even reinvent aesthetic form and functional rationality. This is the core and challenge of interior design.
