Unique Properties
The body frame of 700kids Balance Bike is shaped by GAIM technology (Gas-Assisted Injection Molding). It makes the body not only stable and sturdy with light weight, but also delicate, precisely and well-stacked on surface. We focus on designing the part of footrest. As children prefer to rest their feet while they’re sliding. We could see that PI character 'O' matches the function and outside looking well. And it conveys safety, comfort and each charm to children.

Gas-Assisted Injection Molding
Design Challenge
To achieve integrated molding,the main problem are materials and techniques. We study the carbon fiber, plastic, and metal. Considering the user experiences, vision effects, prices, and producing difficulty, we finally choose nylon glass fiber. With GAIM technology (Gas-Assisted Injection Molding), we have developed a high-strength plastic frame that can be mass produced.

Operation Flow
The product is designed for children. The body is black; the pedals, handles, and cushions are yellow. We use yellow to guide children through riding, gliding, and maintaining balance, which lowers the learning bar. After unpacking the product, users only need to connect the handle head and the vehicle body, then it can be used.
Research
Before that, all the scooters were made of metal, with too many manual operations and different quality. Metal processing products are cold, lack of affinity, extremely single shape, leaving many processing traces such as welding and spraying. Our products use the GAIM technology (Gas-Assisted Injection Molding) process, so that the products have more affinity, no longer cold. The GAIM technology (Gas-Assisted Injection Molding) process brings stable product quality and reduces the artificial burden in the process.
Inspiration
We are inspirited by chair design, throwing the over industrialized and bulky chair products into the past, creating unique and lightweight products through unique craftsmanship, bringing the affinity and better user experience.
Project Overview
700kids Balance Bike Integrated Molding Bicycle has been a Silver winner in the Baby, Kids' and Children's Products Design award category in the year 2019 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition.
