Residential for Parn Shyr Design
The designers selected hexagon grid, a tightly-packed but simple natural element, to solve the problem of direct sunlight. As the greeting hall, the designer choose rustic materials, including beige Travertine, teak, and wood grating, to create a relaxing and modern art phenomenon. The second floor, a space for entertaining and discussing, was formed with independent area in metal, glass, and cubes. By and large, the rich content is a complete functional individual; diving into details, the space seems so splendid an art display room that whoever sees it can hardly turn face away from it.

Given that busy and stressful modern people are craving for spiritual relaxation and peace, the idea of art hall derived from that, putting practicality, aesthetics and art together. Spatial perception and visual performance bring people greatness and steadiness; at the same time, the difficulty, coming along with the restriction on the original building height and insufficient land, maximizes the use of all spaces and design them properly.
Hexagon grid design, Tall residence architecture, Green design, Complex space, Combination of the Eastern and the Western
From the exterior to the interior, natural and original materials are mainly selected. In the first floor, the greeting hall, we choose rustic materials, including beige Travertine in warm tone, soft light, a facade formed by teak cubes, and wood grating, to blend on more elements close to humanities, forming a relaxing phenomenon. As for the second floor, a space for entertaining and discussing, it makes a visual focus with metal installation arts, using partitions made of black metal and glass to divide the meeting areas.
The client demands various functions within each space and spacious parking lots. However, the building sits among bustling roads, which confines the range we can arrange. Moreover, there is an existing building height restriction. It needs to be properly arranged and designed to create smooth traffic flow for everyone while fulfilling the expectation of the client.
The project started in February 2019 in New Taipei City, Taiwan.
In the space mainly used for sales, besides the hardware installation, the application of functions, and the material selecting, what matters the most is the spirit and connotation via the design. It is what makes all the potential clients whoever pays visits develop different feelings and emotion, and is what creates a phenomena benefiting the harmony for both sides under a circumstance that helps the steadiness of minds. The work provides people a pleasant spiritual feast by blending in the design of arts and humanities, coming along with sensible layout forming a smooth traffic flow and simple spaces.
In this multifunctional sales reception center, all the details in the entire design and the structure are indispensable parts. The designer takes both function and appearance into consideration. Through soft structures as well as the hard ones, the hexagon grid external walls, hidden path sign between lines, and the idea of blending humanities and arts into the space, it all becomes a plan with experimental spirit and considerate design.
The reception center is expected to be equipped with various designs and practical functions, and to bring the elegance of the residence for whoever visits it. The designer ingeniously mixes the Eastern art form up with the Western one, and presents the space structure with structuralism. Through materials, ornaments and art works, it is shaped into contemporary aesthetics of Zen, which keeps the simplicity of humanities while creates another fashion trend at the same time.
