Production Technology
The desk is made by solidwood, that is combination of the shine of metal and the roughness of leather and wood .. In other options about material, the designer even wants to show the surface of table body and table legs as harsh as the wooden boat shell, bring emotions to the touch.
Design Challenge
The most difficult part of this design activity is to pick out the simplest, most familiar of river life to become the mark of the design. Selective detail shown to be commercial; trying to strike a balance between crafting and mass production.

The desk drawer can be opened with a light press. The gold-plated tray holds your phone, tablet or something small..
Research
When the world gets closer and closer together, one can see similar designs everywhere. But human nature is like exploring, listening to stories they never knew. Local cultural identity is also a resource for creativity. At artwork, the designer wants to talk about a rich Mekong Delta, with simple and gentle people; they choose wooden boats as their homes.
Inspiration
The artwork gets inspiration from the shape of wood boats on Mekong river, which flows through Vietnam. The designer has his own opinion: When someone is sitting at work, his mind is like a boat going, it needs a good captain with wisdom, concentration, and cultivate knowledge constantly.
Project Overview
Mekong Writing Desk has been a Bronze winner in the Furniture Design award category in the year 2019 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition. The Bronze A' Design Award is given to outstanding designs that showcase a high degree of creativity and practicality. It recognizes the dedication and skill of designers who produce work that stands out for its thoughtful development and innovative use of materials and technology.
