Wall Lamp for CONCEPTICONstudio
Jedi is a wall lamp that can tilt and become a table lamp or a scenographic element. It can project the light beams in two directions with greater or lesser amplitude of the light cone to decorate the wall or even create the effect of the legendary laser blade. Its cylindrical shape with oblique cuts allows to limit the adjustment movement of the light beam. The product is aesthetically valid both alone and in series and the finishes of the cylindrical body, satin and glossy, allow a very flexible combination with different styles of furniture.

The product is simple to manufacture: basically it is obtained from a cylindrical metal die, three cuts, a surface treatment and the hinged coupling with the wall anchor, which is an assembly of a plate and a pre-fitted plate. The rest is an internal electronic system and any kind of remote control app if needed.
The great creative challenge was the search for coherence between form and function that did not depend only on a direct correlation between the two principal instances, but that could add an additional narrative layer that would give further meaning to the product: in the end, the icon of the lightsaber arrived to solve the situation, combining aesthetics and functionality with a certain irony.
The project started in Febrary 2020 in Teramo and finished in September 2020 in Teramo
JD is a simple lamp that can be transformed from a wall lamp into a table lamp through a movement. Its shape and its optics, which allow to manage the width and the light beam, make it a product capable of characterizing the space with different lighting scenarios and with a touch of cinematic irony.
Research has been oriented towards increasingly hybrid ways of living: the home becomes an office and everything that furnishes it becomes a work tool: this is the reason for the transformation from a wall lamp to a table lamp. The research is based on the observation of gestures, and a healthy reflection on the economy of the product. the result is a simple object, adaptable to any context that can be used with ease and that perfectly fulfills its aims.
Obviously the first inspiration is the most famous saber in the world...the light saber of the jedy knights. It will bring an ironic and iconic mood inside the house. But it is not only this: it is the synthesis between a table lamp and a wall lamp that allows you to manage the luminous flux in order to have diffused and decorative light or direct light on the work surface to carry out specific activities.
