Mini House for doT & associates
The cabin, lit up in the evening, like a kerosene lamp. The scenery of life flowing from the interior coated with coziness. The core spirit of the house is to reopen perceptions being clouded by the internet and busy urban life. Furniture that pulls out into the outdoors, a barbecue grill as a kitchen, camping chairs as living room chairs, these all represent the extension of living to the outside. Built in six weeks as a 100 percent tongue and groove house, with construction and interior living requirements completed, an offline house is a process of creating a symbiosis with the environment.

This project is designed to have an offline life as opposed to the internet and the hectic pace of work in the city. The small container of life can be a vessel, the big container is a building. The imagination of the offline life, in fact, comes from the offline life of the container. The designer believes that as long as the living environment is located away from city, their desire of material will reduce. That is a place to live, not to be crammed with House 100 percent.
DIY house, assemble, wood, build it yourself
The main highlight is that it can be assembled into a wooden house by following the assembly instructions. In cooperation with a woodworking factory in Kochi, Japan, our computerized design drawings and models are sent to Japan, and the factory there dismantles the materials accordingly and processes them to produce the wood unit parts and hardware for a cabin. Kochi forests have been thinned for 50 to 60 years, and the designer built the house from the heart of the friendly environment.
Total area of 60 square meters, originally, the designer did not plan to do the bottom moving stairs, after all, it takes up a lot of space to put a ladder in the house, so a stool and table can replace the stairs. In this room, one can return to the feeling of a kitten scale. But in order to accommodate the many elders and friends who come to the house, the designers designed a portable ladder that can be pushed out when needed. In order to maintain a light and transparent texture as much as possible. In addition to the look of a staircase, the stairs can be more functional. When not used as a staircase, it can also be a hanger.
It was built in March 2020 in Taiwan.
The fireplace is added up the warmth. A log cabin can never be without a fireplace, so the imagination of offline living began to spread again, with reference to foreign cases, and ironworkers to develop a smokeless flying saucer type fireplace. Burning alcohol so there is no smoke and burning smell, no need to set up exhaust pipes to reduce environmental damage, and the warmth and heat of a real flame, the offline cabin is in perfect condition.
This case has a core value, to inspire a dialogue between the senses of the individual and the object. Here we do not need to do the imagination of urban life, such as blackout curtains. Only the material of the elements, there is a filtering effect, so that the curtains in the houe is perfect. The special light and shadows in the environment through the honeycomb curtains sprinkled into the cabin, gradual layers of light to create a hazy warmth. In the offline cabin, you can freely capture the wind and air outside the window, the important thing is that people can feel with their skin and fingertips to feel the change of outdoor light, the flow of wind.
The designer surrounded the house with a layer of camphor wood chips, whose rich fragrance and oils are great for insect control. People naturally had desires and thought of it as a standard urban apartment. Then, the L-shaped kitchen became a set of movable multifunctional stoves, the wooden tub replaced the fixed one, and the closet was left alone. Taking away ½ of the desire and adding some imagination.
