Production Technology

Quartz engineered stones are aesthetical components for kitchens, bathrooms, wall & floor coverings. Avalanche offers an alternative to the user in a way to feel the exclusivity of lightened atmosphere throughout a transparent engineered quartz stone. With this eco-friendly, sustainable and luxurious piece of art; we both satisfy the user needs and providing them Avalanche. Contains recycled crystal quartz, glass and recycled water from its own polishing process and energy from renewable sources

Design Challenge

Avalanche is one of the most durable materials due to the quartz mineral,which is one of the hardest minerals after diamond.Avalanche, 90 % recycled quartz content adds superior properties to the structure and surface durability, scratch and acid,basic alkaline and chemical resistance and increase the strength four times than onyx,granite and marble.The vein pattern design sustainable every slab due to robotic process whereas the natural stones pattern changed every block cut to size as slab.

Project Duration

The Avalanche Project started at 2020 in Belenco research and development laboratory pilot plant, start up in 2020 at the production and exhibited to the market at 2021. Since 2021 to these time Belenco Avalanche is on the market of mainly USA.

Operation Flow

Natural quartz minerals and resin composed in mixers. The mixture transport directly to distribution unit. Vein effect unit gives a marble look pattern. Mixture go to the vibration press under vacuum and pressed. The slab shaped to length of 310 cm and the width of 152 cm and the thickness of 20 cm, cured at the oven, polished with diamond abrasives to give them higher glosses finishes and final quality control area separated the slabs to their quality and pick up glossy surface face to face, bundled and transport to the clients.

Research

Avalanche is a practical,user friendly and a constantly efficient product.When mounted as a quartz surface (and if intended a light source placed to its underneath),its hygienic,antibacterial,has strong scratch resistance (quartz 7 Mohs scale strength),chemical resistance and no water absorption due to non-porosity.It has a long-life cycle and high impact resistance,only necessary change would be lightning source in the upcoming years.Avalanche will remain shiny and new just like the first day.

Inspiration

Avalanche quartz surface is the new interpretation of natural onyx stone,which inspires translucent appearance to illuminating interior places. It is possible to create lighted areas in your kitchen,bathroom,other living areas by simply using this design.Avalanche countertops are the best sanitary solutions where the hygiene needed by reason of it is antibacterial,healthy for food contact,also healthy for indoor air quality without any chemical exposure on people.

Project Overview

Avalanche Surfacing Solution has been a Iron winner in the Manufacturing and Processing Machinery Design award category in the year 2020 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition. The Iron A' Design Award is awarded to good designs that meet the rigorous professional and industrial standards set by the A' Design Awards. This recognition is reserved for works that demonstrate a solid understanding of design principles and show creativity within their execution. Recipients of the Iron A' Design Award are acknowledged for their practical innovations and contributions to their respective fields, providing solutions that improve quality of life and foster positive change. These designs are a testament to the skill and dedication of their creators, showcasing their ability to address real-world challenges through thoughtful design.
