Production Technology

E yes uses PP (Polypropylene) Plastic Injection Moulding as a means of production and is suitable for making children's toys due to its non-toxic and high temperature resistance properties.

Design Challenge

In order to make the product practical, we have made many experimental models, the experimental model is made by 3D printing, the children's ergonomics were considered, adjusted to fit the size of the child's hand and the distance between the eyes, and the planning of a children's play test was planned, and the details of the product's actual use were continuously improved.

Project Duration

The project began construction in May 2020, completed product validation in December 2020, and received the International Design Award Silver Award in February 2021.

Operation Flow

Mode A The small ball rolls in the maze, and the child's eyes will automatically follow and focus. It can also be combined with color training, zoom training and other modules. Mode B The AR transparencies do not require electric power and allow children to explore the environment while training their eyes to change the focal length. Mode C Parents can use the vision test panel and guide children to rotate the module. Regular testing tracks changes in children's vision and detects problems for early treatment.

Research

Training treatments to improve vision are selected according to the type of amblyopia in the child, such as eye patching, CAM vision stimulator, flip mirror, and dedicated eye exercise. These training treatments mainly address strabismic amblyopia and refractive amblyopia and are currently the most common treatments for amblyopic children. Existing amblyopia treatments are not child-friendly, prone to problems such as danger, inconvenience of going out, and the training process is unattractive to children.

Inspiration

Children's amblyopia is a growing problem, and due to the rise of electronics and technology, there are many children around us who need vision therapy from an earlier age. At least 12 million children suffer from amblyopia worldwide. Amblyopia is a problem caused by poorly developed visual areas of the brain, and the prime time for amblyopia treatment is before the age of eight.
