It is a challenge to balance the simplicity of camping gear and the romantic of the ambiance lighting.

Operation Flow
“Elves” has lights embedded in the S’more Pit, Coffee Brewer, Tableware, and Hanging Light, “Elves” creates a strong ambiance in nature, replacing the table cloth through decorative light patterns.
Research
In order to elevate the camping experience, I researched about both camping and glamping. I interviewed 5 glampers and campers, plus one expert who owns a glampground. The method I used in the interviews is card sorting, timeline, and Dixit deck. The insight I got is: lighting is essential to a campground. People care about whether it is photogenic because they want to post glamorous experiences on social media.
Inspiration
Glamping is an activity that can be financially out of reach for many. “Elves” elevates the camping experience through simple pleasures that are created through diversified outdoor activities. Today's busy lifestyle can make eating together a challenge, but the benefits of gathering as a family are worth the effort. “Elves” encourages us to gather around the campfire and around the dinner table, satisfying the fundamental need of communal belonging that we all share. It's what makes us “human”.
Project Overview
Elves Camping Accessories has been a Silver winner in the Outdoor Gear and Camping Equipment Design award category in the year 2020 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition. The Silver A' Design Award celebrates top-tier designs that embody excellence and innovation. This award acknowledges creations that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also highly functional, reflecting the designer's deep understanding and skill. Silver A' Design Award recipients are recognized for their contribution to raising industry standards and advancing the practice of design. Their work often incorporates original innovations and elicits a strong emotional response, making a notable impact on the improvement of everyday life.
