To eliminate the original space's irregular layout, the designer creates the bar to conform to the space conditions and give the customers a transparent feeling. Makes a lot of effort to lighten the space, using hollowed-out cabinets and staggered grilles to realize the feeling of a transparent and extended space from the viewpoint. Uses star-like materials to embellish the layered ceilings to create an effect that extends the height of the space. The combination of rustic woodwork and the relaxing bar atmosphere creates a unique atmosphere, bringing each customer a different dining experience.
Commercial space, Shanghai, Iron elements, Teak, Bar, Composite space.
Iron parts, AR21 paint, teak, stone, and iron frame. The core of this space is calm and stable. The designer combines contemporary avant-garde and rural rustic elements to create a high-end dining space with a retro yet modern style. The most special material is the AR21 paint, which allows iron parts have a wood-like texture after being coated with it by a special process.
First, the structural columns and fire fighting system occupy the front facade, so the designer eliminates the visual oppression through ingenious space design. Second, the visual intersection effect is realized through the placement of the bar to improve the vectorial multi-faceted, and the hollowed-out design is used to create a unique impression of space. Last is about the bare volume and steel structure of the base. To beautify the space, the designer plans this area with a service counter decorated with plants.
The project finished in August 2018 in Taiwan.
The original base has problems such as abrupt structural columns, exposed volume, and vectorial multi-faceted. The designer eliminates the contradictory spatial conditions through hollowed-out design, bar placement, and service counter. On the other hand, In order to meet the requirements of the client, the bar, dining area, semi-penetrating latticework, private rooms, internal kitchen area, and 120 seating spaces are perfectly planned. By re-developing the space, the designer creates a smoother traffic flow and a more efficient space for the client.
There are abrupt structures and fire fighting pipes on the building facade, and the original base has irregular multi-faceted and exposed structures. Because of these spatial constraints, the designer reconstructs the space and turns the deformed areas into maximum utility. Also, consider the privacy of customers who will be sitting by the window. The designer carefully evaluates the angle of elevation and precisely defined the dimensions of the seating areas. Creates a composite space with a fusion of wood, iron, and bar to shape a new combination of tradition and modernity.
This project is located on the 3rd floor of the famous Lu One commercial building in Xujiahui, Shanghai. The designer plans 120 comfortable seats around a stunning view in this space. The concept of the starry sky, bar, and farmhouse are used to create a unique conception. The designer also uses red slanted lights to symbolize the spicy taste of Hunan cuisine. Besides, the design of this project is innovative for the brand, and this work will be reproduced and developed in a chain.
