Production Technology

In order to evoke a sense of compatible and friendly reading, and promote brand recognition, the designer therefore focuses on the circular theater form. Then introduces human flow interaction and brand topics, ingeniously solves the problems in construction site configuration. Moreover, its motion trend design diffuses outward in circular and radial patterns, and connects official business, parent-child, relaxation and other abundant reading scenarios.

Design Challenge

In terms of trans-regional cooperation case, the integration of design and implementation must satisfy both local laws and regulations, material selection limits, as well as long-distance communication trust, and under the impact of epidemic, the project execution schedule will be more hardly to control.

Project Duration

The project started in March 2021 and finished in June 2021 in Taicang, China.

Operation Flow

With the use of circular theater design and towering mazy book walls, readers and books then become the main characters in this place, and through elastic functions among books on display, collect books and seats to fit with different usage scenarios. So that readers with different culture backgrounds, age levels and interests can understand the multiplex possibility and meaning from reading at every unexpected exploration and communication, thus reappearing a urban reading culture by means of theatrical pattern.

Research

In response to semi-circular base features, and though circular theater design to gather stream of readers and topics, it has combined stainless steel ceiling and tactfully eliminated the oppressing sensation from huge construction body, which also symbolizes the origin of human knowledge in vast universe. Besides, circular motion lines connects with radial branch lines to from separately clustered book groups and diverse seating areas, leading readers to wonder through various forms of literary arts with more fun. It also matches with clear guidelines and complete lighting environment to assist readers in quickly searching for target books and thus improve reading comfort level.

Inspiration

This young bookstore brand with city context considerations tells us quite a lot about reading and culture in urban daily life, and creates a fresh new consumption pattern and life scenery. Except for function type, the designer has also introduced the third space concept into traditional culture, such as the universe-like theater design, which gathers life tracks and scenarios of different role in city, thereby to create a micro cultural center in city.
