Calendar, Time, One-way, Tissue box, Draw, Cherish the time
Standardized production of wooden boards through cutting technology, printing logos on the boards with laser engraving technology, bonding the parts with environmentally friendly glue, and finally applying wax to preserve the natural texture and soft touch of the wood.
Time is unidirectional, so every day is precious. How to integrate the concept of cherishing time in the form of a calendar and pass it on to users is the most challenging part of this design. The way of extracting paper towels is also one-way, and it can allow users to participate in the use, which is an innovative combination.
The project started in October 2020 in Yantai, with model making around November 2020 and completion in early January 2021 in Beijing.
Draw One calendar is like the tissue paper in the tissue box. Each sheet of paper is printed with the date of the day. Users can update the date of the day by drawing. The hollow wooden box can see the process of paper reduction, which represents the passing of the times. It is a new type of calendar that can provide users with a strong sense of participation.
The calendar is a very traditional timekeeping tool. The purpose of the project is to give the calendar more meaning about time. Borrowing the metaphor of the tissue box. Draw One Calendar is designed through the combination and endowments of common products in life.
This is a calendar that can be used like a paper towel. Each piece of paper is the date of the day, one per day, and each day is unique. After the paper is drawn, it cannot be used again. It is a metaphor for the one-way nature of time, and the form of paper drawing also means to cherish time like saving paper, providing a new calendar concept.
