Production technology: wood cutting, acrylic CNC; material: beech or integrated bamboo, acrylic.

Design Challenge

The most challenging part is its structural design. According to the toughness of the wood or bamboo material itself, a new tenon-and-mortise structure is innovatively designed to realize the disassembly and assembly function and firmness of the V-Stool. The presentation of its structural shape perfectly blends with contemporary aesthetics!

Project Duration

The project started in September 2019in Hangzhou and finished in May 2020 in Hangzhou.

Operation Flow

Open the product package, assemble the product in 3-4 steps, the operation is very convenient, you can experience the fun of assembly, and the assembled product is very strong and durable.

Research

Nowadays, the post-90s have low income, small living space, love online shopping, move frequently, and pursue a certain quality of life. They need flexible, space-saving, easily accessible, simple and stylish furniture to improve their quality of life. V Stool is designed for this group of people. Its shape is simple and fashionable, with complete functions, convenient storage, ingenious structure, and can be disassembled and assembled manually. The flat packaging design greatly reduces the shipping cost, so the price of the product is more affordable.

Inspiration

The current post-90s population has lower income, narrow living space, loves online shopping, often moves, and pursues a certain quality of life. By designing a flexible and versatile, space-saving, easy-to-transport, simple and stylish furniture to enhance the quality of life.It is hoped that based on the traditional tenon-and-mortise structure, combined with the toughness of wood or bamboo materials, a new tenon-and-mortise structure can be designed, which can realize a stool with a high degree of integration of disassembly and assembly functions, firmness and aesthetics!

Project Overview

V Stool Self Assembled Seat has been a Silver winner in the Furniture Design award category in the year 2021 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition.
