This is a store/factory plan that manufactures and sells Mizunasu, a specialty of Japan. The interior of the store is simple and finished in a modern space where you can feel Japanese elements. The exterior, which can be seen from the road in front, contrasts with the windowless factory area on the right, and the store on the left has an opening overlooking the store, designed to encourage customer guidance. A different material is used as an accent in the center, and the design takes into consideration the balance between the left and right sides.

Unique Properties
A plan for a store/factory that manufactures and sells Mizunasu, a Japanese specialty. The interior is finished in a modern space where you can feel simple and sophisticated Japanese elements. In contrast to the factory area, which does not have large windows, the store has a large opening that overlooks the store, and is designed to encourage the guidance of customers. By placing a solid wall as an accent in the center, the design is well-balanced.

Production Technology
Considering the heat insulation performance and durability performance of the building, the wooden structure mainly adopted in Japan was adopted. In that case, the complex and bold spatial composition makes the building strength uneasy. We conducted structural analysis and constructed it firmly and safely using large-section laminated wood and metal joints. In Japan, which is an earthquake-prone country, the structure is so important that the utmost consideration is being given.
Design Challenge
When designing an open store, set up a large opening around the entrance of the store. Ensuring natural energy and improving comfort and performance, even in buildings with large openings. We will realize the low-carbon demand for wooden structures and create a more open design. In addition, it is a big challenge to create an excellent design while ensuring the strength to withstand the large earthquakes that can occur frequently in Japan.

Operation Flow
The main life takes place in the living space on the 3rd floor, which floats in the air. In addition, the surrounding daily life takes place on the ground, and the strategically placed trees and shapes of the houses effectively guide the gaze of passers-by. The living room located on the top floor reflects the surface of the water below, and the space covered with glass on one side is a special space with no obstructions. By securing the height of the building, privacy is secured and a rich daily life is created.
Research
Because it is a commercial building, customers come and go on a daily basis. A wide opening is provided on the front road, and the inside can be fully grasped. What kind of visual and active impact does an open store have on visitors compared to a closed store? We regularly conduct surveys with third parties and verify the situation on a regular basis.
Inspiration
As a building that stands on a site that faces the road for a long time, we arranged volumes of different sizes to encourage customers to come and go. there is In addition, by subtly shifting the spaces with different uses to the left and right, the angle from the road surface is also changed, and we are considering a design that will impress passers-by.
