House for REPLUS Co,Ltd
Rather than adding additional elements to something or embellishing it with ornaments to bring out its individuality, by subtracting unnecessary elements from what is already there, people can create an expression and style that is as close to zero as possible. The idea is to keep things simple. In terms of daily life, instead of arranging the furniture and things in your home to decorate it, you can place really good things and things you like in the right places, so you can understand what is important and what is important. It becomes easier to understand what you should do.

This is a private residence planned on a narrow site with a width of 4m and a depth of 20m. An important aspect of this building plan was to bring in plenty of light into the interior spaces while ensuring privacy. Although it is a private residence, the space is modeled after a small museum, making effective use of the long land, creating an inorganic yet elegant space. This building uses ideas and design to create a more attractive residential space on an unfavorable site.
A skylight was installed on the ceiling of the stairway hall, creating a bright space in the family library on the second floor. Natural light from the skylight enters the LDK and guides the light to the first floor. Produces soft light and creates a bright space even with a small opening.
We had a hard time securing lighting that met Japanese building standards. The living room is brightly lit by a skylight above the stairs. The inside of the store is long and narrow, but the overall color is white. The high doors that extend all the way to the ceiling successfully make the space appear larger. Line lighting placed on the ceiling amplifies this effect.

Unsold land because the frontage is narrow and the land is long. Because designing a normal house is difficult. A traditional Japanese tenement house has been completed. It's full of ideas for making your physical space look larger.
For the client, who prefers inorganic spaces, it was important that the building not look like a wooden building. Privacy is ensured by minimizing the number of windows, and skylights ensure brightness inside. Indirect line lighting on the walls and ceiling creates a sense of depth. By painting all the walls white, light is diffused even in small gaps, ensuring brightness in the room.
