This project originated as part of a teaching assignment in the course 'Typography III'. It is an industry oriented assignment whose outcome is the publishing of the produced typographical works, emulating a real design commissioned scenario. To this effect, a group of students from 'Typography III' course from the School of Art, Design and Media (ADM), were invited to collaborate with Epigram Books under the Creative Direction of Associate Professor Danne Ojeda. Students conducted field research in Singapore Botanic Gardens, after which they created original Drop Caps in the form of contemporary illustrated type designs for the book 'A Garden for All'.
To find a unique design direction that will respond to the research abstract, to design and develop a coherent typographical system that carries the essence of the various features of the Singapore Botanical Gardens.
