Production Technology
The book incorporates a variety of materials to enhance the richness of the reading experience. Transparent PVC material is used to reduce obstruction of the book's content while providing durability that surpasses paper, allowing for repeated installation and removal of the artwork.The use of VR glasses enables users to experience 3D audio and visual effects, complementing the three-dimensional paper art products.
Design Challenge
The product offers an innovative reading experience where children can not only view pages individually but also expand the book as a whole, allowing them to observe it in the traditional scroll painting format. The use of VR glasses enables children to not only see three-dimensional famous paintings but also enter a 3D audiovisual world, allowing them to experience the charm of famous paintings from multiple dimensions.
Project Duration
Launched in Beijing in June 2022, and published in Beijing in June 2023.
Operation Flow
In the "Dino Ancient Art Adventure" besides offering a rich reading experience, there are also two sets of interactive handicrafts included. Energetic and lively children can actively engage in the bookmaking process through hands-on activities. This not only enhances their understanding of the book's content but also allows them to appreciate the effort put into creating the book, thus cherishing this valuable learning product even more.
Research
Traditional culture often feels distant from contemporary life, making it challenging for children to initially develop an active interest in learning about it. "Dino Ancient Art Adventure" offers children a fresh reading and learning experience through a combination of forms such as three-dimensional paper art, audiovisual materials, VR glasses, and interactive handicrafts. This can ignite children's enthusiasm for understanding traditional culture.
Inspiration
Pop-up books is one of children's favorite book formats, and "Dino Ancient Art Adventure" combines the format of pop-up books with traditional scroll painting. It is an innovative traditional cultural learning product, aiming to provide children with an immersive learning experience and thus increase their interest in learning traditional art.
Project Overview
Dino Ancient Art Adventure Books has been a Bronze winner in the Toys, Games and Hobby Products Design award category in the year 2023 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition. The Bronze A' Design Award is given to outstanding designs that showcase a high degree of creativity and practicality.
