The main challenge was integrating minimalist ethos with modern vlogging needs within manufacturing and tech limits. Balancing design simplicity with advanced features like AI tracking and stabilization.

Project Duration

A student project at Art Center College Of Design from September to December 2023

Operation Flow

Its pieces magnetically snap together, allowing for quick setup and pack-down. The handheld design ensures smooth filming with built-in stabilization, while the AI tracks faces flawlessly during live streams. Lights and microphones are instantly ready for action, enhancing the visual and audio quality of any content. This user-friendly system simplifies the vlogging process, making high-quality production accessible to all.

Research

Research aimed at improving vlogging for beginners identified key challenges in portability, stabilization, and audio-visual quality through market research, interviews, and observations with vloggers and video production beignners.

Inspiration

The Nizo Z camera combo draws inspiration from the principles of functional and retro design. Paying homage to the blend of simplicity and modern technology. With minimalist aesthetics, intuitive assembly, and magnetic components, the design prioritizes ease of use while incorporating advanced technological features.

Project Overview

Nizo Z Vlog Camera Combo has been a Iron winner in the Camera and Photography Equipment Design award category in the year 2023 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition. The Iron A' Design Award is awarded to good designs that meet the rigorous professional and industrial standards set by the A' Design Awards. This recognition is reserved for works that demonstrate a solid understanding of design principles and show creativity within their execution. Recipients of the Iron A' Design Award are acknowledged for their practical innovations and contributions to their respective fields, providing solutions that improve quality of life and foster positive change.
