Production Technology
Umma Swing is made up only of three materials that permit its indoor outdoor use: aluminium for the frame, a recyclable material, nautical rope and technical fabrics for the upholstery.
Design Challenge
The biggest challenge was finding a technical solution that met the desired aesthetic standard, ensuring comfort and sustainability, and also allowing the creation of multiple pieces from a few basic elements.

This project started in february 2023
Operation Flow
Umma Swing is mainly for sitting purpose but can also be viewed as piece of art work that can be used both inside and outside doors. The simple lines invite to sit down and enjoy the present moment.
Research
The main objective of the project was to make a visually light and elegant outdoor swing to find the right aesthetic balance. Aluminum combined with upholstery in technical material guarantee the necessary sustainability and robustness characteristics of this sustainable project.
Inspiration
Original and elegant, Umma Swing brings a coastal, nautical vibe to any setting. It is perfect for spending some quality chill out time outdoors or indoors. The large cushions hug and take you to a safe place suspended in time, just like when you are on vacation by the shore.
Project Overview
Umma swing has been a Bronze winner in the Furniture Design award category in the year 2023 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition. The Bronze A' Design Award is given to outstanding designs that showcase a high degree of creativity and practicality. It recognizes the dedication and skill of designers who produce work that stands out for its thoughtful development and innovative use of materials and technology. These designs are acknowledged for their professional execution and potential to influence industry standards positively. Winning this award highlights the designer's ability to blend form and function effectively, offering solutions that enhance people's lives and wellbeing.
