A built-in sofa structure in the living room area is a featuring implication of framing a scenery. The soft timber expands from base to ceiling explaining the conceptual image of framing gesture. It is the center piece of this project. Flexibility plays a key role in smart living design. The tatami flooring in the living area forms a mixture usage of formal and casual style. Relocating a dining table next to a working desk, dining room can be transformed into various uses of dining, reading, working, and meeting. It’s also a link to private section in the back.

Research

The execution is completely divergent comparing to big scale space design. As the capital city grows up and the family structure is consequently shrinking in Taiwan, the smart space and limited budget operation knowledge would be beneficial for more people in the near future.

Inspiration

The concept is to recreate a residential space to demonstrate owner's personal preference. The interior design shows a unique outcome matching Japanese and industrial style.
