Production Technology
The entire space used dark colors as the main color tone, with the addition of elegant and rich spatial colors; the designer fused Thoreau’s philosophy of life with own design principles, using the natural patterns of stone to demonstrate the exquisite spatial texture, and further extracted the natural atmosphere of the rainforest, thereby returning to the nature with loads of natural principles.
Project Duration
The project finished on the 25th of June 2019, locates in Taichung, Taiwan.
Research
Not only Thoreau, the famous philosopher, Lao Zi of the Chinese culture also had similar philosophy of life; in Lao Zi’s thoughts, the way from what is beneath abstraction and govern by doing nothing that goes against nature has the same idea, and such principle is slowly deep-rooted in people’s hearts, allowing the life wisdom of great personage to take us in it while following the river of era.
Inspiration
American writer Thoreau once stated, I wanted to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life, to live so sturdily and Spartan like as to put to rout all that was not life, to cut a broad swath and shave close, to drive life into a corner, and reduce it to its lowest term, Fascinated by Thoreaus philosophy of life.
Project Overview
Art of Simplicity Model House has been a Bronze winner in the Interior Space and Exhibition Design award category in the year 2019 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition. The Bronze A' Design Award is given to outstanding designs that showcase a high degree of creativity and practicality. It recognizes the dedication and skill of designers who produce work that stands out for its thoughtful development and innovative use of materials and technology. These designs are acknowledged for their professional execution and potential to influence industry standards positively. Winning this award highlights the designer's ability to blend form and function effectively, offering solutions that enhance people's lives and wellbeing.
