The restaurant emphasizes the space interaction between artistic conception and diners, and skillfully mirrors the temperament of the times. In addition to art and visual beauty, designers think more about how to drive consumption from the perspective of operators and space design, and experience the pleasure of space and the sense of belongings from the perspective of consumers. The micro-landscape at the entrance of the restaurant subtly reappears the sloping Qiantang River, restoring the scene that the poetic Song dynasty literati who boiling tea at the poetic Jiangnan.

The designer hopes to present this space with a more contemporary design language. In the overall space, different materials such as brass, marble and silk glass are comprehensively used, and the characteristics of different materials are used in combination with the application and treatment of lighting. It not only carries the historical charm, but also has design innovation, and it is compatible and inclusive to mix different aesthetic elements of time and space here.

In a large area of gray tones, metallic copper emphasizes the outline and frame, creating a strong sense of order. The brass dome defines the sense of area with the style of the court, creating a beautiful visual effect without losing the simple aesthetic feeling.Gray white marble desktop and metal color with silk glass partition form a response. The ground is stitched with black marble stacked tiles, which is quiet and stable.
As an important element of space modeling and artistic conception expression, lighting is divided by designers according to different functions. Combined with plane layout, ceiling, wall, partition and dining table, choosing different forms of lighting methods,such as lamps, light source colors, color temperature, which presents different scenes in the same space, and makes the space full of change as well as the experience is completely different when walking and after seating.
The project started in August 2018 in Hangzhou and finished in October 2018 in Hangzhou.
On the display, inheritance and innovation are integrated. The plum vase of the Southern Song Dynasty official kiln, the ancient books with blue cloth and thread, the hexagonal Chinese style hole window, the pendant lamp with the shape of Pu fan, as well as the thin gold character and the Ruihe diagram of the Emperor Huizong of the Song Dynasty, most of the design inspiration comes from the style of the Song Dynasty, presenting the historical aesthetic feeling under the modern style.
As a disciple of the authentic sect of hangbang cuisine, the owner intended to interpret the Song Dynasty catering aesthetics through contemporary art techniques. The designer hopes to present this space in a more contemporary design language, with the coexistence of the East and the West, tradition and modern, fashion and retro.
In the design of the restaurant, a large number of aesthetic elements of Song dynasty are applied to present the cultural charm, as well as modern design aesthetics, and strive to achieve the ultimate in construction technology. Returning to the essence of the restaurant, a good dining experience is always the core of design. As advocated by Qiantang restaurant, returning to nature presents the delicacy bearing historical warmth in the most simple form.
