Retail Space for PaM Design Office
"Wang Xi STUDIO" is an independent fashion designer brand store and originates from “clothing”. Apart from the 30sqm workplace, the designers reorganized functional areas in the limited area about 50sqm. Standing at the most obvious place of the display area, the dressing room is a necessary part and controls the rhythm of the space, hence enriching the display space. The incompletely independent space for tea break is one part of the display area. Although the workplace is not exposed to the public, the curved wall, window and door all indicate the importance of it for the brand.

The most difficult part is creating a space which is different from conventional retail space and carries characteristics of an independent fashion designer brand store. Wood grain is chose as the main material that is similar to the clothes in texture and quality. Besides, the curved "interface language" also echoes the characteristics of fabric, soft and stretchy. Apart from the 30sqm workplace, the designers reorganized in an interesting way the functional areas in the limited area about 50 sqm.
Duration: from March 2019 to May 2019
The clothing workshop is a noisy area, therefore it is placed in the most hidden area of the space. The display area is shrouded in the "skirt of the space" to strengthen its own integrity. The meeting & tea break area is a semi-enclosed space, the half-height curved low wall makes it partially separated from the display area, and opened on one side, simultaneously the long window opening treatment of the wall makes the tea break maintain a visual connection with the main entrance of the space.
"Wang Xi STUDIO" is an independent fashion designer brand store. The design of the space originates from "clothing", and more importantly, the kind of curl and freedom that "fabric" brings us, and the rich touch that is hard to express with words. The design takes "fabric" as the starting point, from form to material, in order to create consistency between space and clothing brand.
