Sculpture for Marriott Group W hotel Xi'an
They developed this concept of the Sky Reaching Pole by researching the acrobats of the Tang Dynasty. Dignitaries from around the world were entertained by the acrobats of the court. The creative team researched and built many motifs of the acrobats before the final design was executed. The sculpture is over four meters high giving the feeling of suspense. The poles and the figures are abstract in nature but contemporary with metallic color. These acrobats were the main attraction during the inaugural celebration of the Tang as the sculpture is for the entrance of it.

A wormhole appeared in parallel time and space between Xi’an W and Tang Dynasty. We use artistic imagery built to instantly enter the Tang Dynasty. With hundreds of dancing horses, strolling in Chang'an, listening to music, watching from the distance of the smile of the big Ming Palace's tail, closely watching the Danfengmen ‘s peach petals flying. Thus, Xi’an W, it is a beautiful floating sky garden.
The reaching pole is a traditional Chinese classical acrobatic project, which mainly focuses on performing power, balance and aerial skills. The high-pole skills of Chang'an in the Tang Dynasty were amazing. They often performed in the courts and squares and were very popular with the Tang people. The Tang people have extremely high pole-carrying skills. The pole-climbing, pole-moving in a bike and so on are rich in content. Their skills, stilts, and shoulder-to-top performances are all amazed.
