Gradual Change of the Circle

Sculpture for Gradual Change of the Circle

The work is mainly made of stainless steel, and the titanium plating technique makes the art piece in the color scheme of cash and silver, demonstrating a technological and futuristic vibe. The rounded shape of the piece is a replica of a mother's face, representing her love like the sun and the moon, which protect her day and night. The earth's biosphere: genes, individuals, groups, species, communities, and landscapes have evolved over thousands of years.

Production Technology

Moreover, it also conveys the image of life that never ends. The lines outside the arc are similar to the waves of the sea lapping on the beach, recording the time of the ebb and flow of the tide.

Design Challenge

The pre production of the artwork was constructed using reusable earth as the material, and the model was printed out with corn-friendly materials through the technology of 3D printing by scanning. By means of an environmentally friendly production process and the use of recyclable materials, the project reduces waste of resources and pollution, thus realizing an earth friendly environment.

Project Duration

The market launch was in 2019.

Operation Flow

All the rivers run into the sea, yet the sea is not full. This passage is a motto of King Solomon in the Old Testament, and it is embodied in part of this work, reflecting the view of the sky through the inner concave curved surface.

Research

The overall appearance of the work resembles a nautilus or a seashell and the image of Tai Chi. The physical transformation following the mental condition produces different forms or symbols from one person to another. The idea is firstly executed and shaped by a computer with accuracy and precision as the essential reference index and before long made by hand, under highly technical skills demanding process.

Inspiration

The earth's biosphere: genes, individuals, groups, species, communities, and landscapes have evolved over thousands of years. This artwork is an abstract conceptual approach to the appearance of seeds, buds, shells, mothers, and other imagery, creating an imaginative installation.
