Jewelry for Atelier Sorouri

The Gloria Collection is inspired from halo which is a luminous ring painted by artists above the heads people, who somewhat achieved a sort of spiritual and divine state. A halo is a symbol of a good spirit, virtue and chastity. This collection of jewelry can be used in both separate or combined.The stones used in this project, are all made by hand and consist of no chemical color or substance and has the recyclability to return to nature.Our goal of creating such a collection, is to represent the elevation of human’s spirit in a wearable artifact.

Production Technology

The main shanks of the ring and the body of the bracelet are made by wire handforming and the stones’ materials are totally natural and environment friendly and in fact, no sort of chemical colors or substances has been used during the process of making.

Design Challenge

After searching in various features of natural materials, manifold techniques were tested to specify the optimal crafting method; so eventually a crafting process was selected out of sustainable and unique methods for making the stones of this collection.

Project Duration

This project started in 2017 and ended in 2019 after making the preliminary prototypes.

The design data of this collection and specially its stones, are garnered through information gathering and field & empirical studies.

Inspiration

(Gloria), In the dictionary it means halo, worshiping and praying of God the Almighty.The halo is a luminous ring which artists paint around the head of Saints or Mormons; this was used as the inspiration of the design.

Project Overview

Gloria Jewelry has been a Bronze winner in the Jewelry Design award category in the year 2019 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition. The Bronze A' Design Award is given to outstanding designs that showcase a high degree of creativity and practicality. It recognizes the dedication and skill of designers who produce work that stands out for its thoughtful development and innovative use of materials and technology.
