The cushion height and depth of the Huicong Study Chair could be adjusted while the child is growing up. Depending on the size of the child, the sitting depth can be adjusted slightly which is more innovative than other solid wood chairs in the market. The curved design of the backrest and ergonomics cushion makes it more comfortable to study for a long time. The design of adding wheels makes it easier and more convenient for children to use.

Unique Properties
Huicong Chair is a combination of traditional solid wood furniture and functional furniture. At present, the adjustable kids' chair on the market is more inclined to office furniture, using metal and other materials. Huicong chair has made different attempts, using the safer and warmer solid wood material. But compared to traditional solid wood furniture, it can easily adjust the height of the footrest, seat height, and sitting depth, which brings users a new choice. It enriches the company's product line and differentiates it from the products on the current market.

Production Technology
Huicong is mainly composed of solid beech and plastic. Among many solid woods, beech has the advantages of aesthetic appearance and relatively good stability. It is processed with large rounded corners to bring more safety to children. The surface treatment is applied by Italian Cefla automatic spraying equipment with Akzonobel, a formaldehyde-free water-based paint.
Project Duration
The project started in July 2018, and finished in July 2019 in Hangzhou.
Operation Flow
The seat height and sitting depth of the Huicong Chair can be adjusted to suit children with different body shapes. The specially designed cushion with curvature enables the child to bend naturally and reduce the load on the spine. The seat cushion and backrest can be quickly installed and disassembled to facilitate the replacement of seat covers of various colors. The front legs of the chair are equipped with wheels for easy transportation.
Inspiration
Huicong is a solid wood adjustable chair for kids. In China, many families prefer to use solid wood furniture, especially when buying children's furniture, because solid wood often represents safety and quality. However, traditional solid wood chairs are often not adjustable, which is not suitable for growing children and will affect their health and learning efficiency. Thus, we designed Huicong Study Chair which combines ergonomics with solid wood materials. It is a product that balances modern technology and tradition.
Project Overview
Huicong Study Chair has been a Silver winner in the Furniture Design award category in the year 2020 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition. The Silver A' Design Award celebrates top-tier designs that embody excellence and innovation. This award acknowledges creations that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also highly functional, reflecting the designer's deep understanding and skill. Silver A' Design Award recipients are recognized for their contribution to raising industry standards and advancing the practice of design. Their work often incorporates original innovations and elicits a strong emotional response, making a notable impact on the improvement of everyday life.
